La primera hora en Gran Canaria – Del aeropuerto a Salobre Golf Resort

Al llegar por primera vez a Gran Canaria, es fácil imaginar que el aeropuerto se encuentra cerca de la capital de la isla.

En realidad, el aeropuerto de Gran Canaria, LPA, está situado casi 25 kilómetros al sur de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, en la costa este de la isla. Durante buena parte del año, esta zona está bajo la influencia constante de los alisios del nordeste. Para el aeropuerto, sin embargo, estos vientos forman parte del día a día.

El propio aeropuerto transmite una sensación de muy buena organización. En mi experiencia personal, es uno de los aeropuertos más agradables de Canarias. Mientras otros aeropuertos del archipiélago han aparecido en los últimos años en los medios por problemas de capacidad o por la necesidad de modernización, la llegada a Gran Canaria suele ser tranquila, eficiente y sencilla. Así es como deberían comenzar unas vacaciones.

Hacia el sur en coche de alquiler

Para alojarse en Salobre Golf Resort, mi recomendación personal es disponer de un coche de alquiler. Ofrece la mayor libertad para descubrir por cuenta propia las playas, los pueblos de montaña o los restaurantes del sur de la isla.

Reservar el vehículo antes del viaje suele hacer que la recogida sea mucho más sencilla al llegar. Las empresas de alquiler del aeropuerto están acostumbradas a un flujo constante de visitantes y, por lo general, trabajan de forma muy profesional.

Una vez recogido el coche, la dirección es sencilla: GC-1 / Sur. Desde el aeropuerto hasta la entrada de Salobre Golf Resort hay unos 40 kilómetros y el trayecto suele durar alrededor de 30 minutos. Buena parte de la GC-1 en este tramo cuenta con tres carriles y el tráfico hacia el sur suele fluir sorprendentemente bien. En este tramo, los atascos son poco habituales.

Guagua o taxi – también es posible viajar sin coche de alquiler

El transporte público es otra alternativa interesante. En Gran Canaria nadie habla de autobuses: aquí son guaguas. Son fiables, modernas y muy económicas. Disponen de aire acondicionado, muchas cuentan incluso con conexiones USB y enlazan el aeropuerto con las principales zonas turísticas del sur. En épocas de mayor afluencia, algunas líneas pueden ir bastante llenas.

La línea 66 resulta especialmente práctica. Sale del aeropuerto y pasa, entre otros lugares, por San Agustín y Playa del Inglés hasta llegar al Faro de Maspalomas. El billete sencillo para un adulto cuesta alrededor de 4,40 euros, un precio realmente económico para esta distancia.

Quien prefiera llegar directamente a su destino sin hacer transbordos puede optar por un taxi. El trayecto desde el aeropuerto hacia el sur cuesta actualmente alrededor de 70 euros. Conviene utilizar los taxis oficiales, fácilmente reconocibles por su identificación y los colores correspondientes a cada municipio.

Salida 53 – aquí comienza Salobre

Si se viaja en coche, basta con seguir la GC-1 en dirección sur hasta la salida 53. Aproximadamente 100 metros después de abandonar la autopista aparece el característico muro de piedra con la inscripción “Salobre Golf & Resort – Feel the warm side of life”.

Desde la propia GC-1 no puede verse. Solo aparece después de tomar la salida y acercarse al resort. Es la primera señal visible de que el destino está ya muy cerca.

Poco después se llega a la barrera principal de acceso a Salobre Golf Resort. La entrada es sencilla: indicando qué villa se visita o se ha alquilado, el personal de seguridad permite normalmente el acceso sin complicaciones.

A pocos metros de la barrera se encuentra el gran cartel que indica el camino hacia las diferentes zonas residenciales. Aquí aparece ya un detalle importante: en Salobre Golf Resort, primero hay que conocer el nombre del Complejo; el número de la villa solo cobra importancia después.

Tras pasar la barrera, el ambiente cambia de forma perceptible. La autopista queda de repente lejos y el paisaje pasa a estar dominado por palmeras y campos de golf. Apenas hay tráfico; es más habitual cruzarse con algún corredor o con personas paseando que con una sucesión de coches.

Calle Swing, Calle Green – y cómo encontrar la villa correcta

La mayoría de las villas se encuentran a lo largo de las dos calles principales, Calle Swing y Calle Green. A su vez, las villas se distribuyen entre varios Complejos, pequeñas zonas residenciales dentro del resort.

Para encontrar una villa es imprescindible saber primero a qué Complejo pertenece. El número por sí solo sirve de poco y solo adquiere importancia una vez dentro del Complejo correcto.

Algunas de estas zonas residenciales disponen además de una segunda barrera de acceso. Por eso, especialmente durante la primera visita, pueden pasar todavía algunos minutos desde la entrada principal del resort hasta llegar a la villa correcta.

Después se aparca el coche, se descargan las maletas y, a menudo, la piscina privada está ya a solo unos pasos.

Y así termina la primera hora en Gran Canaria.

The first hour on Gran Canaria – From the airport to Salobre Golf Resort

Arriving on Gran Canaria for the first time, you might expect the airport to be close to the island capital.

In fact, Gran Canaria Airport, LPA, lies almost 25 kilometres south of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on the island’s east coast. For much of the year, this part of the island is influenced by the steady north-easterly trade winds. For airport operations, however, these winds are simply part of everyday life.

The airport itself feels very well organised. In my experience, it is one of the most pleasant airports in the Canary Islands. While other airports in the archipelago have attracted attention in recent years because of capacity issues or the need for modernisation, arriving on Gran Canaria usually feels calm, efficient and straightforward. It is exactly how a holiday should begin.

Heading south by rental car

For a stay at Salobre Golf Resort, I would personally recommend a rental car. It gives you the greatest freedom to explore beaches, mountain villages or restaurants in the south of the island independently.

Booking the car before travelling usually makes the collection process much easier on arrival. The rental car companies at the airport are accustomed to a constant flow of visitors and generally operate very professionally.

Once you have collected the car, the direction is simple: GC-1 / Sur. From the airport to the entrance of Salobre Golf Resort, the distance is around 40 kilometres and the journey usually takes about 30 minutes. Much of the GC-1 on this stretch has three lanes, and traffic heading south normally flows surprisingly well. Traffic jams on this section are the exception rather than the rule.

Guagua or taxi – travelling without a rental car

Public transport is another interesting option. Buses on Gran Canaria are known as Guaguas and are reliable, modern and very inexpensive. They are air-conditioned, often have USB charging points and connect the airport with the main holiday resorts in the south. During busy travel periods, however, some services can become quite full.

Bus line 66 is particularly useful. It runs from the airport via places including San Agustín and Playa del Inglés to the Faro de Maspalomas. A one-way adult ticket costs around 4.40 euros, which is remarkably inexpensive for the distance.

Anyone who prefers to travel directly to their destination without changing transport can take a taxi. A journey from the airport to the south currently costs around 70 euros. It is advisable to use the official taxis, which can be recognised by their local municipal markings.

Exit 53 – this is where Salobre begins

If you are driving yourself, stay on the GC-1 heading south until exit 53. Around 100 metres after leaving the motorway, the distinctive stone wall appears with the words “Salobre Golf & Resort – Feel the warm side of life”.

It cannot be seen from the GC-1 itself. It only appears once you have left the motorway and are approaching the resort. It is the first visible sign that your destination is very close.

Shortly afterwards, you reach the main security barrier at the entrance to Salobre Golf Resort. Arrival is straightforward: if you can say which villa you are visiting or have rented, the security staff will normally let you through without difficulty.

Only a few metres beyond the barrier stands the large sign directing guests to the different residential areas. This already reveals one important detail: at Salobre Golf Resort, the name of the Complejo comes first, and the house number only becomes relevant afterwards.

Beyond the barrier, the atmosphere changes noticeably. The motorway suddenly feels far away, while palm trees and golf courses shape the view. Cars are few and far between – you are just as likely to encounter a jogger or someone out for a walk.

Calle Swing, Calle Green – and finding the right villa

Most of the villas are located along the two main roads, Calle Swing and Calle Green. The villas themselves are distributed among several Complejos, or smaller residential communities.

To find your villa, you therefore need to know which Complejo it belongs to. The house number alone is of little use and only becomes important once you are inside the correct Complejo.

Some of these residential areas also have their own additional barrier. Especially on a first visit, it can therefore take a few more minutes to get from the main resort entrance to the correct villa.

Then the car is parked, the luggage is unloaded, and the private pool is often only a few steps away.

And with that, your first hour on Gran Canaria is complete.

Die erste Stunde auf Gran Canaria – Vom Flughafen ins Salobre Golf Resort

Wer zum ersten Mal auf Gran Canaria landet, vermutet den Flughafen oft in der Nähe der Inselhauptstadt.

Tatsächlich liegt der Flughafen LPA knapp 25 Kilometer südlich von Las Palmas de Gran Canaria an der Ostküste der Insel. Hier macht sich während eines großen Teils des Jahres der beständige Nordost-Passat bemerkbar. Für den Flugbetrieb gehört der kräftige Wind jedoch zur Routine.

Der Flughafen selbst hinterlässt einen sehr gut organisierten Eindruck. Nach meiner Erfahrung zählt er zu den angenehmsten Flughäfen der Kanaren. Während andere Flughäfen des Archipels in den vergangenen Jahren wegen Kapazitätsproblemen oder notwendiger Modernisierungen häufiger in den Schlagzeilen standen, verläuft die Ankunft auf Gran Canaria meist ruhig, effizient und angenehm. Genau so wünscht man sich den Beginn eines Urlaubs.

Mit dem Mietwagen Richtung Süden

Für einen Urlaub im Salobre Golf Resort würde ich persönlich einen Mietwagen empfehlen. Er bietet die größte Flexibilität, um Strände, Bergdörfer oder Restaurants im Süden der Insel unabhängig zu entdecken.

Wer sein Fahrzeug bereits vor Reisebeginn reserviert, hat bei der Ankunft meist die deutlich unkompliziertere Übernahme. Die Mietwagenstationen am Flughafen sind auf den stetigen Besucherandrang bestens vorbereitet und arbeiten in der Regel sehr professionell.

Nach der Fahrzeugübernahme ist die Richtung einfach: GC-1 / Sur. Vom Flughafen bis zur Einfahrt des Salobre Golf Resorts sind es rund 40 Kilometer, für die man im Normalfall etwa 30 Minuten benötigt. Die GC-1 ist auf weiten Teilen dieser Strecke dreispurig ausgebaut und der Verkehr Richtung Süden fließt meist erstaunlich gut. Staus sind auf diesem Abschnitt eher die Ausnahme.

Guagua oder Taxi – es geht auch ohne Mietwagen

Eine interessante Alternative ist der öffentliche Busverkehr. Die Busse heißen auf Gran Canaria Guaguas und sind zuverlässig, modern und ausgesprochen preiswert. Sie fahren klimatisiert, verfügen meist sogar über USB-Ladeanschlüsse und verbinden den Flughafen mit den wichtigen Urlaubsorten im Süden. In stark frequentierten Reisezeiten können einzelne Verbindungen allerdings gut ausgelastet sein.

Besonders praktisch ist die Buslinie 66, die vom Flughafen unter anderem über San Agustín und Playa del Inglés bis zum Faro de Maspalomas fährt. Die einfache Fahrt für einen Erwachsenen kostet rund 4,40 Euro – für diese Strecke bemerkenswert günstig.

Wer nach dem Flug lieber direkt und ohne Umstieg an sein Ziel gebracht werden möchte, nimmt ein Taxi. Für die Fahrt vom Flughafen in den Süden sollte man derzeit mit rund 70 Euro rechnen. Dabei empfiehlt es sich, die offiziellen Taxis mit ihrer jeweiligen kommunalen Kennzeichnung zu nutzen.

Ausfahrt 53 – jetzt beginnt Salobre

Wer selbst fährt, bleibt auf der GC-1 Richtung Süden bis zur Ausfahrt 53. Schon rund 100 Meter nach Verlassen der Autobahn erscheint die markante Natursteinmauer mit dem Schriftzug „Salobre Golf & Resort – Feel the warm side of life“.

Von der GC-1 selbst ist sie nicht zu erkennen – sie zeigt sich erst, wenn man die Autobahn verlassen hat und auf das Resort zufährt. Es ist der erste sichtbare Hinweis darauf, dass das Ziel ganz nah ist.

Kurz darauf erreicht man die zentrale Einfahrtsschranke des Salobre Golf Resorts. Die Ankunft ist unkompliziert: Wer sagen kann, welche Villa er besucht oder gemietet hat, wird vom Sicherheitsdienst in der Regel problemlos eingelassen.

Nur wenige Meter hinter der Schranke steht der große Wegweiser zu den verschiedenen Wohnanlagen des Resorts. Schon hier zeigt sich: Im Salobre Golf Resort zählt zuerst der Name des Complejos, erst danach die Hausnummer.

Hinter der Schranke verändert sich die Atmosphäre spürbar. Die Autobahn liegt plötzlich hinter einem, Palmen und Golfanlagen bestimmen das Bild. Autoverkehr nimmt man hier kaum noch wahr – eher begegnet man einzelnen Fahrzeugen, Joggern oder Spaziergängern.

Calle Swing, Calle Green – und die Suche nach der richtigen Villa

Die meisten Unterkünfte liegen an den beiden Hauptstraßen Calle Swing oder Calle Green. Die Villen verteilen sich auf mehrere Complejos, also kleinere Wohnanlagen.

Wer seine Villa finden möchte, muss deshalb zuerst wissen, in welchem Complejo sie liegt. Die Hausnummer allein hilft kaum weiter – sie wird erst innerhalb des richtigen Complejos wichtig.

Einige dieser Wohnanlagen verfügen zusätzlich über eine eigene Schranke. Gerade beim ersten Aufenthalt können deshalb zwischen der Einfahrt ins Resort und der richtigen Villa durchaus noch einige Minuten vergehen.

Dann wird das Auto abgestellt, die Koffer werden ausgeladen – und der private Pool ist häufig nur noch wenige Schritte entfernt.

Die erste Stunde auf Gran Canaria ist vorbei.

Salobre Golf Resort: no se descubre, se deja descubrir

Quien conoce Gran Canaria desde hace décadas debería conocer el Salobre Golf Resort, o eso cabría pensar.

Sin embargo, en los últimos años me ha sorprendido una y otra vez exactamente lo contrario.

Ya sea un agente inmobiliario que vive en Gran Canaria desde hace unos diez años, un conocido creador de YouTube o amigos que llevan muchos años viviendo en la isla, resulta sorprendente cuántos conocen el Salobre Golf Resort solo de oídas. Algunos ni siquiera han estado allí.

Precisamente ahí reside el encanto de este lugar.

La mayoría de los visitantes conoce Playa del Inglés, Maspalomas o Puerto de Mogán. El Salobre Golf Resort, en cambio, permanece casi escondido. Quien conduce hacia el sur por la GC-1 puede pasar fácilmente por la salida 53 sin prestarle demasiada atención. Nada hace pensar en lo que se abre apenas dos minutos después, tras una barrera.

Salobre Golf no se descubre. Se entra en él.

Con cada curva cambia el paisaje. La carretera atraviesa un terreno volcánico, entre palmeras, jardines cuidados y los dos campos de golf. De pronto, uno se encuentra en un mundo que tiene muy poco que ver con el bullicio turístico de la costa.

Quizá esa sea una de las razones por las que este lugar sigue siendo todavía un secreto para muchos.

¿Cómo es realmente alojarse en el Salobre Golf Resort?

Esta es una pregunta que escucho una y otra vez.

¿Es tranquilo?

No hay una respuesta sencilla.

Quien solo ha estado una vez, en realidad solo conoce una de sus caras. En invierno y en verano, el resort puede parecer casi dos mundos completamente distintos.

Invierno: golf, tranquilidad y libertad

Durante los meses de invierno, los visitantes de toda Europa marcan el ambiente.

Muchos llegan para seguir jugando al golf durante el invierno europeo. Otros disfrutan de la piscina, leen en la terraza o simplemente pasan horas tranquilas al sol.

Las mañanas transcurren jugando al golf o descansando. Por la tarde, muchos se acercan a Maspalomas o Meloneras. En coche, el trayecto dura unos diez o quince minutos.

Quizá para tomar un helado, pasear junto al faro, recorrer algunas tiendas o sentarse tranquilamente en un restaurante.

Después se regresa.

De vuelta a una atmósfera completamente distinta.

Un coche de alquiler significa libertad. Cada día se puede decidir de nuevo qué apetece hacer: ir a la playa, jugar al golf, subir a las montañas o simplemente pasar un día tranquilo en la propia terraza.

A mis 61 años, durante los meses de invierno suelo ser uno de los huéspedes más jóvenes. Muchos visitantes llevan años pasando varias semanas en Gran Canaria y disfrutan precisamente de esta combinación de golf, clima agradable y tranquilidad.

Verano: la vida española toma el relevo

Solo unos meses después, el resort parece un lugar completamente distinto.

Con el comienzo de las vacaciones de verano, el ambiente cambia de forma evidente.

Ahora llegan muchas familias de la propia Gran Canaria o de la península. El golf se sigue practicando, por supuesto, pero deja de ocupar el centro de la escena como en invierno.

La vida gira ahora en torno a la familia, la piscina, la buena comida y las largas veladas en la terraza.

Se vive algo más que unas vacaciones: también se percibe una parte de la vida española.

Los niños juegan en la piscina. Varias generaciones se sientan juntas en la terraza. Se cocina, se ríe y se permanece al aire libre hasta bien entrada la noche.

Las noches suelen ser agradablemente cálidas. Las temperaturas se mantienen con frecuencia entre los 20 y los 23 grados, por lo que la vida se traslada de forma natural al exterior.

Naturalmente, el resort no es tan tranquilo en verano como en invierno. Algunos fines de semana pueden ser más animados, aunque entre semana todo suele calmarse de nuevo con bastante rapidez.

En verano, por cierto, normalmente soy uno de los huéspedes de mayor edad. También eso muestra hasta qué punto cambia el resort de una estación a otra.

Mi conclusión personal

Cuanto más tiempo conozco el Salobre Golf Resort, menos lo veo únicamente como un resort de golf.

En invierno es tranquilo, internacional y gira en torno al golf.

En verano se vuelve animado, familiar y claramente español.

Precisamente ese cambio es lo que da al resort su atractivo.

Por eso me alegra cada vez que tomo la salida 53.

Porque detrás de esa salida aparentemente insignificante comienza otro mundo.

Salobre Golf Resort – you don’t discover it, you are drawn into it

Anyone who has known Gran Canaria for decades should surely know Salobre Golf Resort, or so you might think.

Yet the opposite has repeatedly surprised me over the past few years.

Whether it is an estate agent who has lived on Gran Canaria for around ten years, a well-known YouTube creator or friends who have called the island home for many years, a surprising number of people know Salobre Golf Resort only by name. Some have never even been there.

That is precisely what makes this place so special.

Most visitors know Playa del Inglés, Maspalomas or Puerto de Mogán. Salobre Golf Resort, by contrast, remains almost hidden. Anyone driving south on the GC-1 can easily pass exit 53 without giving it a second thought. Nothing suggests what will open up behind a barrier only two minutes later.

You don’t discover Salobre Golf. You are drawn into it.

With every bend, the landscape changes. The road winds through volcanic terrain, past palm trees, carefully maintained gardens and the two golf courses. Suddenly, you find yourself in a world that has little in common with the tourist bustle of the coast.

Perhaps that is one of the reasons why this place has remained something of an insider’s secret.

What is it really like to stay at Salobre Golf Resort?

I am asked this question again and again.

Is it quiet there?

There is no simple answer.

Anyone who has visited only once has really seen only one side of it. In winter and summer, the resort can feel like two almost entirely different worlds.

Winter – golf, tranquillity and freedom

During the winter months, visitors from across Europe shape the atmosphere.

Many come so they can continue playing golf throughout the European winter. Others enjoy the pool, read on the terrace or simply spend relaxed hours in the sun.

Mornings are spent playing golf or taking it easy. In the afternoon, many people head to Maspalomas or Meloneras. By car, the journey takes around ten to fifteen minutes.

Perhaps for an ice cream, a walk by the lighthouse, a browse through the shops or a relaxed meal in a restaurant.

Then you drive back.

Back to a completely different atmosphere.

A hire car means freedom. Each day, you can decide afresh what you feel like doing: going to the beach, playing golf, heading into the mountains or simply spending a quiet day on your own terrace.

At 61, I am often one of the younger guests during the winter months. Many visitors have been spending several weeks on Gran Canaria every year for a long time, enjoying precisely this combination of golf, pleasant weather and tranquillity.

Summer – Spanish life takes over

Only a few months later, the resort feels almost like a different place.

Once the summer holidays begin, the atmosphere changes noticeably.

Many families now arrive from Gran Canaria itself or from mainland Spain. Golf is still played, of course, but it is no longer as central as it is in winter.

Family life, the pool, good food and long evenings on the terrace now set the rhythm of the day.

You experience more than just a holiday; you also get a glimpse of Spanish life.

Children play in the pool. Several generations sit together on the terrace. People cook, laugh and stay outside until late in the evening.

The nights are often pleasantly warm. Temperatures frequently remain between 20 and 23 degrees Celsius, so life naturally moves outdoors.

Of course, the resort is not as quiet in summer as it is in winter. Some weekends can be livelier, although during the week things usually settle down again quite quickly.

In summer, incidentally, I am usually one of the older guests. That alone shows how different the resort can feel from one season to another.

My personal conclusion

The longer I have known Salobre Golf Resort, the less I see it simply as a golf resort.

In winter, it is quiet, international and centred around golf.

In summer, it becomes lively, family-oriented and distinctly Spanish.

It is precisely this change that gives the resort its appeal.

That is exactly why I look forward to taking exit 53 every time.

Because behind this unassuming exit, another world begins.

Wer Gran Canaria seit Jahrzehnten kennt, sollte das Salobre Golf Resort eigentlich kennen – könnte man meinen.

Genau das Gegenteil hat mich in den vergangenen Jahren immer wieder überrascht.

Ob ein Immobilienmakler, der seit rund zehn Jahren auf Gran Canaria lebt, ein bekannter YouTube-Creator oder Freunde, die seit vielen Jahren auf der Insel zu Hause sind – erstaunlich viele kennen das Salobre Golf Resort nur vom Hörensagen. Manche waren sogar noch nie dort.

Genau darin liegt das Besondere dieses Ortes.

Die meisten Urlauber kennen Playa del Inglés, Maspalomas oder Puerto de Mogán. Das Salobre Golf Resort liegt dagegen fast verborgen. Wer auf der GC-1 Richtung Süden fährt, nimmt die Ausfahrt 53 oft gar nicht bewusst wahr. Nichts deutet darauf hin, was sich nur zwei Minuten später hinter einer Schranke eröffnet.

Salobre Golf entdeckt man nicht. Man wird hineingeführt.

Mit jeder Kurve verändert sich die Landschaft. Die Straße führt durch die Vulkanlandschaft, vorbei an Palmen, gepflegten Gärten und den beiden Golfplätzen. Plötzlich befindet man sich in einer Welt, die mit dem touristischen Trubel an der Küste nur noch wenig gemeinsam hat.

Vielleicht ist genau das einer der Gründe, warum dieser Ort bis heute ein Geheimtipp geblieben ist.

Wie lebt es sich eigentlich im Salobre Golf Resort?

Diese Frage höre ich immer wieder.

Ist es dort ruhig?

Eine einfache Antwort gibt es darauf nicht.

Wer nur einmal dort war, kennt eigentlich nur eine Seite. Im Winter und im Sommer wirkt das Resort fast wie zwei unterschiedliche Welten.

Winter – Golf, Ruhe und Freiheit

In den Wintermonaten prägen vor allem Gäste aus ganz Europa das Bild.

Viele reisen an, um auch während des europäischen Winters Golf spielen zu können. Andere genießen den Pool, lesen auf der Terrasse oder verbringen entspannte Stunden in der Sonne.

Am Vormittag wird Golf gespielt oder entspannt. Am Nachmittag geht es häufig noch nach Maspalomas oder Meloneras. Mit dem Mietwagen dauert das ungefähr zehn bis fünfzehn Minuten.

Ein Eis essen, am Faro spazieren gehen, durch die Geschäfte bummeln oder gemütlich in einem Restaurant sitzen.

Danach fährt man wieder zurück.

Zurück in eine ganz andere Atmosphäre.

Der Mietwagen bedeutet Freiheit. Jeden Tag neu entscheiden zu können, worauf man Lust hat: Strand, Golf, Berge oder einfach ein ruhiger Tag auf der eigenen Terrasse.

Mit meinen 61 Jahren gehöre ich in den Wintermonaten häufig zu den jüngeren Gästen. Viele Besucher verbringen seit Jahren regelmäßig mehrere Wochen auf Gran Canaria und genießen genau diese Mischung aus Golf, angenehmem Klima und Ruhe.

Sommer – das spanische Leben zieht ein

Nur wenige Monate später wirkt das Resort fast wie ein anderer Ort.

Mit Beginn der Sommerferien verändert sich die Atmosphäre deutlich.

Jetzt reisen viele Familien von Gran Canaria selbst oder vom spanischen Festland an. Golf wird weiterhin gespielt, steht aber nicht mehr so im Mittelpunkt wie im Winter.

Jetzt bestimmen Familie, Pool, gutes Essen und lange Abende auf der Terrasse den Alltag.

Man erlebt nicht nur Urlaub, sondern auch ein Stück spanische Lebensart.

Kinder spielen im Pool. Mehrere Generationen sitzen gemeinsam auf der Terrasse. Es wird gekocht, gelacht und bis spät am Abend zusammengesessen.

Die Nächte sind häufig angenehm warm. Oft liegen die Temperaturen noch zwischen 20 und 23 Grad. Dadurch spielt sich das Leben draußen ab.

Natürlich ist das Resort im Sommer nicht so ruhig wie im Winter. Gerade an einzelnen Wochenenden kann es lebhafter werden. Unter der Woche beruhigt sich das jedoch meist wieder schnell.

Im Sommer bin ich dann übrigens meistens einer der Älteren. Auch daran merkt man, wie unterschiedlich das Resort je nach Jahreszeit ist.

Mein persönliches Fazit

Je länger ich das Salobre Golf Resort kenne, desto weniger sehe ich es nur als Golfresort.

Im Winter ist es ruhig, international und vom Golfsport geprägt.

Im Sommer wird es lebendig, familiär und typisch spanisch.

Gerade dieser Wechsel macht den Reiz des Resorts aus.

Genau deshalb freue ich mich jedes Mal, wenn ich die Ausfahrt 53 nehme.

Denn hinter dieser unscheinbaren Ausfahrt beginnt eine andere Welt.

Quien quiere alquilar una villa en el sur de Gran Canaria suele mirar primero el mapa: ¿a qué distancia está la playa? Sin embargo, cuando la estancia es más larga, hay otra pregunta que cobra importancia: ¿cuántos tipos de vacaciones diferentes permite disfrutar este lugar?

El campo de golf, el Atlántico y el paisaje abierto del sur se alinean aquí en una misma perspectiva.

Una semana de vacaciones puede disfrutarse en muchos lugares. Quien va al mar por la mañana, se sienta por la tarde en una cafetería y pasea al anochecer por el paseo marítimo se sentirá rápidamente a gusto en las conocidas localidades costeras del sur. Pero cuando la estancia dura diez días o dos semanas, la perspectiva cambia. El alojamiento deja de ser solo un lugar para dormir y se convierte en el punto de partida de todas las vacaciones.

Lo importante entonces es poder combinar deseos diferentes: actividad y descanso, localidades costeras animadas y noches tranquilas, excursiones espontáneas y días sin un plan fijo.

La mejor ubicación no siempre es la que está más cerca del mar, sino la que ofrece más posibilidades.

Estar junto a la playa no es ideal para todas las vacaciones

Una villa situada directamente en la costa parece, a primera vista, la solución perfecta. El mar está a la puerta, los restaurantes y las tiendas quedan cerca y apenas parece necesario utilizar el coche. Para unas vacaciones cortas de playa, puede ser exactamente lo adecuado.

Sin embargo, las localidades costeras también tienen todo aquello que las hace atractivas: tráfico, restaurantes, paseos marítimos y mucha gente fuera hasta bien entrada la noche. Lo que durante el día resulta animado y entretenido puede acabar siendo agotador con el paso del tiempo.

El Faro de Maspalomas marca uno de los tramos de costa más conocidos del sur de la isla.

Quien se queda más tiempo suele buscar ambas cosas: disfrutar de la vida en la costa y disponer de un lugar donde todo vuelva a estar más tranquilo al caer la tarde. Ese es precisamente el atractivo de un alojamiento que no se encuentra directamente junto al paseo marítimo, pero sí lo bastante cerca como para llegar sin esfuerzo a los lugares más conocidos del sur.

Salobre Golf Resort se encuentra a poco menos de dos kilómetros en línea recta del Atlántico. Está situado ligeramente en altura, al borde de un paisaje de colinas, pero sin llegar a tener el carácter claramente más fresco de las zonas altas de la isla. En el mapa, esta ubicación puede parecer discreta. En el día a día resulta especialmente práctica.

El sur se abre en varias direcciones

Desde Salobre, Maspalomas y Meloneras están tan al alcance como Playa del Inglés, San Agustín, Arguineguín, Anfi del Mar, Amadores y Puerto de Mogán. Dependiendo del destino y del tráfico, muchos paseos marítimos, calas y localidades portuarias se alcanzan en aproximadamente 10 a 25 minutos.

Así, el día no tiene por qué estar decidido desde primera hora de la mañana. Basta con mirar el tiempo, valorar el estado de ánimo y decidir entonces: actividad, mar, un paseo, un restaurante o simplemente un día tranquilo en la terraza.

Cuando varias personas viajan juntas es cuando más se aprecia el valor de estas distancias cortas. Los diferentes intereses no tienen por qué competir entre sí. El día conserva su flexibilidad sin convertirse en un plan de viaje complicado.

La vida más animada está cerca, pero no delante de la puerta

Una tarde en la costa puede ser ruidosa, concurrida y entretenida. Las mesas de los restaurantes están ocupadas, turistas y residentes recorren los paseos marítimos y alrededor de las playas se crea una atmósfera que forma parte del sur de Gran Canaria.

En la costa puede haber mucho ambiente. La diferencia está en visitarla o vivir en medio de él.

Sin embargo, después de un día largo suele apetecer dejar atrás el tráfico y terminar la jornada sin más planes. Al entrar en Salobre Golf Resort, el ambiente cambia: desaparece el tráfico de paso, las calles se vuelven más tranquilas y la vista se abre sobre las colinas y el Atlántico.

Ese regreso también forma parte de las vacaciones. No puede medirse en minutos hasta la playa más cercana, pero para el descanso suele ser tan importante como el propio programa del día.

Cuándo estar junto a la playa es la mejor opción

Quien no quiera utilizar el coche y prefiera pasar casi todas las vacaciones en un único tramo de costa probablemente estará mejor en una localidad turística. También en una estancia corta puede resultar práctico llegar a pie a restaurantes y lugares de ocio.

Quien prefiera tranquilidad, privacidad y diferentes planes cada día debería valorar la ubicación desde una perspectiva más amplia. Entonces no cuenta solo la distancia hasta el mar, sino el entorno que puede alcanzarse desde el alojamiento.

Por la noche se aprecia la calidad de la ubicación

El Faro de Maspalomas, los restaurantes de Meloneras y el paseo marítimo junto al Atlántico son algunos de esos lugares donde un día de vacaciones puede terminar de forma agradable. Más tarde, se regresa a la tranquilidad de las colinas.

Al caer la tarde, el Faro de Maspalomas se convierte en un punto de encuentro. A pocos kilómetros vuelve la tranquilidad.

Quizá ahí resida la fuerza de esta ubicación: durante el día, la vida del sur; más tarde, tranquilidad y amplitud de vistas.

Conclusión: una buena ubicación aporta libertad

La mejor villa de vacaciones en el sur de Gran Canaria no es necesariamente la que está situada junto a la playa. Sobre todo en estancias más largas, adquiere valor un lugar desde el que sea fácil combinar diferentes deseos. Salobre ofrece un entorno verde, amplias vistas, el Atlántico en el horizonte y las localidades más conocidas del sur dentro de un radio cómodo.

Al final, quizá no sea el camino más corto hasta el mar lo que permanece en la memoria, sino la sensación de poder decidir cada día cómo disfrutar las vacaciones.

Why Location Matters More Than Being on the Beach

Anyone looking to rent a villa in the south of Gran Canaria usually looks at the map first: How far is it to the beach? During a longer stay, however, another question becomes more important: How many different holiday experiences does this location make possible?

Golf course, Atlantic Ocean and the open landscape of the south lie along a single line of sight.

A one-week holiday can be enjoyed in many places. Anyone who goes to the sea in the morning, sits in a café in the afternoon and strolls along a promenade in the evening will quickly find their way around the well-known coastal resorts of the south. Stay for ten days or two weeks, however, and the perspective begins to change. The accommodation then becomes not merely a place to sleep, but the starting point for the entire holiday.

What matters now is whether different wishes can be combined: activity and relaxation, lively coastal resorts and quiet evenings, spontaneous excursions and days without a fixed plan.

The best location is not always the one with the shortest route to the sea, but the one that offers the most possibilities.

Being Right by the Beach Is Not Ideal for Every Holiday

A villa directly on the coast initially sounds like the perfect solution. The sea is on the doorstep, restaurants and shops are easy to reach, and a car hardly seems necessary. For a short beach holiday, that may be exactly right.

Coastal resorts, however, also bring with them everything that makes them attractive: traffic, restaurants, promenades and many people who remain out until the evening. What feels lively and entertaining during the day can also become tiring over time.

Maspalomas Lighthouse marks one of the best-known stretches of coastline in the south of the island.

Those who stay longer often look for both: life on the coast and a place where that life becomes quieter again in the evening. This is precisely the appeal of accommodation that is not situated directly on the beachfront promenade, yet is close enough to reach the well-known places of the south without much effort.

Salobre Golf Resort lies just under two kilometres from the Atlantic as the crow flies. It is situated slightly above the coast at the edge of the hilly landscape, without yet taking on the character of the island’s noticeably cooler higher elevations. On the map, this position initially appears unremarkable. In practice, it proves remarkably convenient.

The South Opens Up in Several Directions

From Salobre, Maspalomas and Meloneras are just as accessible as Playa del Inglés, San Agustín, Arguineguín, Anfi del Mar, Amadores and Puerto de Mogán. Depending on the destination and traffic, many promenades, bays and harbour towns can be reached in approximately 10 to 25 minutes.

As a result, a day of your holiday does not have to be decided first thing in the morning. You look at the weather, consider your mood and only then decide: activity, sea, a walk, a restaurant or simply a quiet day on the terrace.

This is where short travel distances really prove their value, especially when several people are travelling together. Different interests do not have to be played off against one another. The day remains flexible without turning into a complicated travel plan.

Lively Life Is Close – but Not on the Doorstep

An afternoon on the coast can be loud, busy and entertaining. The tables in the restaurants are occupied, holidaymakers and local residents move along the promenades, and around the beaches an atmosphere develops that belongs to the south of Gran Canaria.

The coast is meant to be lively. What matters is whether you are visiting it or living right in the middle of it.

After a long day, however, there is often a desire to leave the traffic behind and let the evening end without any further plans. After entering Salobre Golf Resort, the atmosphere changes: through traffic disappears, the roads become quieter, and the view opens across the hilly landscape and the Atlantic.

That return journey becomes part of the holiday itself. It cannot be expressed in minutes to the nearest beach, but for relaxation it is often just as important as the day’s activities themselves.

In the evening, Maspalomas Lighthouse becomes a meeting place. Just a few kilometres away, tranquillity begins again.

Perhaps this is precisely the strength of the location: the life of the south during the day, followed later by tranquillity and open views.

Conclusion: A Good Location Creates Freedom

The best holiday villa in the south of Gran Canaria is not automatically the one situated directly beside the beach. Particularly during longer stays, a place becomes valuable when it allows different wishes to be combined without complication. Salobre offers green surroundings, open views, the Atlantic within sight and the well-known destinations of the south within easy reach.

In the end, it may not be the shortest route to the sea that remains in the memory, but the feeling of being able to decide afresh how to spend each day of your holiday.

Wer eine Villa im Süden von Gran Canaria mieten möchte, schaut meist zuerst auf die Karte: Wie weit ist es bis zum Strand? Bei einem längeren Aufenthalt wird jedoch eine andere Frage wichtiger: Wie viele unterschiedliche Urlaubstage lassen sich von diesem Ort aus gestalten?

Golfplatz, Atlantik und die offene Landschaft des Südens liegen hier auf einer Blickachse.

Eine Woche Urlaub lässt sich an vielen Orten angenehm verbringen. Wer morgens ans Meer geht, nachmittags in einem Café sitzt und am Abend über eine Promenade schlendert, wird sich in den bekannten Küstenorten des Südens schnell zurechtfinden. Bleibt man zehn Tage oder zwei Wochen, verändert sich der Blick. Dann wird die Unterkunft nicht nur zum Schlafplatz, sondern zum Ausgangspunkt des gesamten Urlaubs.

Entscheidend ist nun, ob sich unterschiedliche Wünsche miteinander verbinden lassen: Bewegung und Erholung, lebendige Küstenorte und ruhige Abende, spontane Ausflüge und Tage ohne festen Plan.

Die beste Lage ist nicht immer die mit dem kürzesten Weg zum Meer, sondern die mit den meisten Möglichkeiten.

Direkte Strandnähe ist nicht für jeden Urlaub ideal

Dadurch muss ein Urlaubstag nicht schon am Morgen feststehen. Man schaut auf das Wetter, auf die eigene Stimmung und entscheidet erst dann: Bewegung, Meer, ein Spaziergang, ein Restaurant oder einfach ein ruhiger Tag auf der Terrasse.

Gerade wenn mehrere Menschen gemeinsam reisen, zeigt sich der Wert dieser kurzen Wege. Unterschiedliche Interessen müssen nicht gegeneinander ausgespielt werden. Der Tag bleibt beweglich, ohne dass daraus ein komplizierter Reiseplan entsteht.

Das lebendige Leben liegt nah – aber nicht vor der Haustür

Nach der Einfahrt in das Salobre Golf Resort verändert sich die Stimmung: Der Durchgangsverkehr verschwindet, die Straßen werden ruhiger, und der Blick öffnet sich über Hügellandschaft und Atlantik.

Diese Rückkehr gehört zum Urlaub. Sie lässt sich nicht in Minuten bis zum nächsten Strand ausdrücken, ist für die Erholung aber oft ebenso wichtig wie das Tagesprogramm selbst.

Am Abend zeigt sich die Qualität der Lage

Der Leuchtturm von Maspalomas, die Restaurants von Meloneras und die Promenade am Atlantik gehören zu den Orten, an denen ein Urlaubstag angenehm enden kann. Später geht es zurück in die ruhigere Hügellandschaft.

Am Abend wird der Faro de Maspalomas zum Treffpunkt. Wenige Kilometer entfernt beginnt wieder die Ruhe.

Vielleicht liegt genau darin die Stärke der Lage: tagsüber das Leben des Südens, später Ruhe und Weitblick.

Fazit: Eine gute Lage schafft Freiheit

Die beste Ferienvilla im Süden von Gran Canaria ist nicht automatisch diejenige, die unmittelbar am Strand steht. Besonders bei längeren Aufenthalten wird ein Ort wertvoll, von dem aus sich unterschiedliche Wünsche unkompliziert verbinden lassen. Salobre bietet dafür grüne Umgebung und Weitblick, den Atlantik in Sichtweite und die bekannten Orte des Südens in einem überschaubaren Radius.

Am Ende bleibt vielleicht nicht der kürzeste Weg zum Meer in Erinnerung, sondern das Gefühl, jeden Urlaubstag neu entscheiden zu können.

Maspalomas Golf ante su remodelación: grandes planes, fechas inciertas

El histórico campo de golf será reorganizado y su entorno modernizado. La dirección del proyecto empieza a definirse. Cuándo se traducirá en obras visibles sigue siendo una incógnita.

Maspalomas Golf forma parte desde hace décadas del paisaje turístico del sur de Gran Canaria.

Maspalomas Golf no es un campo definido por grandes desniveles. Sus calles se extienden sobre un terreno llano entre palmeras, complejos turísticos y el paisaje protegido de las dunas. Esa sensación de amplitud es una de sus principales características y también hace que cualquier transformación importante resulte especialmente visible.

El procedimiento urbanístico ha avanzado ahora un paso relevante. La comisión municipal de evaluación ambiental ha emitido una valoración favorable del informe ambiental estratégico correspondiente al Programa de Actuación de Mejora Urbana, conocido como PAMU. Esto permite que el proyecto continúe su tramitación, pero todavía no establece un calendario definitivo para las obras.

La remodelación está más cerca desde el punto de vista político y administrativo. Sobre el propio campo, sin embargo, sigue siendo todavía un proyecto de futuro.

Mucho más que una reforma del campo

El proyecto no se limita a los tees, los greens o el sistema de riego. Plantea una reorganización más amplia de todo el entorno. Entre las medidas previstas figuran nuevos caminos y aceras, una iluminación más moderna y la creación de nuevas zonas ajardinadas y espacios públicos.
